Check out that word frequency! In case you wanted to do a real-time check of the biases of CNN vs. Fox News, this spiffy little OSX app called News Mapper does the trick. Our checks so far: CNN’s obsessed with “debt,” while Fox News has the market on “Obama” cornered. Surprisingly, though, “Boehner” is about even. This is awesome. A supergenius must’ve made this.
Ok, this is too cool!

Yes, I will take credit, or blame really, for Grover Norquist. He was one of the many conservatives — Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham — lots of people who we introduced to the American public back in the 90’s on Politically Incorrect, when we needed foils for me. I guess they’re getting the last laugh since they’re actually controlling America now.

Between Casey Anthony, Libby, Bernie Madoff, Rod Blagojevich and Amanda Knox, look who dominated the news most over the past four years. Carl Franzen explains:
The comparisons between O.J. Simpson and Casey Anthony are apparent in more ways than one. The July 5 acquittal of the mother accused of murdering her daughter captured more media attention than any court verdict in the past four years, according to new analysis from the Pew Research Center. Seventeen percent of news coverage that day was consumed with the shock and anger that followed the jury’s not-guilty decision for Anthony. The next most-covered verdict? Scooter Libby’s 2007 guilty conviction for lying about his involvement in leaking the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame.

The Daily Beast dissects the iconic photograph of the White House Situation Room as Navy SEALs raided Osama bin Laden’s Abbottabad compound, offering insight into the mysterious room. (For example: it’s not as mysterious as we might think. When not in use for top secret national security operations, any White House employee can hold meetings in the Situation Room). From coffee cups to a blurred photograph to secured laptops, no detail is overlooked.

Doomsday predictor Harold Camping is less than rapturous over the focus on him as a result of his prediction that the world will end Saturday.

If this is true, I’m going to be so bored when the puck drops. I will still watch it, and still look forward to it because it’s still a great way to celebrate the sport. But boy do I dislike both of these teams.
